Have you read a good Christian book lately? Join our Christian book club and enjoy the benefits of membership. Joining is very simple! Just come in, fill out a registration form and receive a book club punch card.  After purchasing four regular priced books from On Eagles' Wings you will receive a $1.00 discount on your next regular priced book. Members may read any books they like (fiction, Bible study, christian living, parenting, devotional, marriage, etc). The one requirement we have is that you write a brief  book review for each book (we provide the book review form).  Since we can not possibly read every book, we rely heavily on the recommendations made by our customers. At some point we hope to be able to have a fun event just for our book club members.  The book club is open to ALL ages. We have children's books as well as Christian fiction, Christian living, parenting, marriage and more. We can special order if we don't have a particular book in stock.

What is Angel Food Ministry?

Once a month, you (or someone you want to help) can be blessed with fresh meats, fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, and staple items at an extremely low price! And this is not "day-old" or "outdated" food. It's all fresh, top quality name brand products, shipped from the manufacturers to the Angel Food Ministries HQ in Monroe, GA, and then to our area on refrigerated trucks. Best of all, there are NO applications, NO qualifications, NO limits on the quantity you may order. How does it work? Each month come to First Christian Church during the assigned order times to place your order and pay for your food. Then come back on the specified pickup date to receive your order(s). Bring 1 empty box with you for every regular food box you order. Order and pickup dates/times are on the menu sheet and on our website calendar. Payment in full is required at the time you place your order! We are unable to take mail, email, or phone orders.

What do I get, and how much does it cost?

The cost for a standard box is $30.00. We accept Cash, Money Orders, and Food Stamp Cards. Sorry, we cannot accept checks.The current list of the monthly box items is available at  www.spencerdisciples.org/ministries. Information for scheduled times to order and pick-up are also given there.

On Eagles' Wings is happy to post in-the-store flyers for Iowa Great Lakes area Chrisitian events. We will also put them on our website calendar of events if you wish. Just bring in a poster with the information!

CHERISH CENTER provides a HOME and a HOPE for young mothers in need. Programs offered by Cherish Center include:

CHERISHED WOMEN/CHERISHED KIDS (parent training), THEE GARAGE SALE (providing low and no-cost items for those in need), EARN WHILE YOU LEARN (with Mentor Moms), NO APOLOGIES FOR TEENS/TWEENS (sexual abstinence training for teens), and COMMUNITY RESOURCES FOR YOUNG MOTHERS (including pregnancy and adoption counseling services).

One of the 'painless' ways your church or group can raise money for Cherish House is to do a BABY BOTTLE CAMPAIGN. This is a simple fundraiser which involves collecting pocket change in baby bottles. For more information call 712-338-3333.

Another way to help raise funds is to host a soy candle or waxed bear party at our home or group meeting and hear the story of Cherish House.
